Let's Create

When I started fashion blogging I had no idea I would be lucky enough to meet so many talented people in my area. I also never would have thought I would feel comfortable shooting with all of these talented people!

Six months ago, when I started to take my blog more seriously, I was lucky enough to have a best friend who doubles as a talented photographer. Due to this, I convinced myself that I would only ever be comfortable shooting with Keldon and that I could never shoot with any other photographers. Boy, am I glad I was wrong! Thanks to months of practice and support coming from Keldon, I now feel comfortable pushing myself to shoot with new people.

I'm so happy I got to this point because I believe it's a good way to gain exposure, but even more importantly, working with talented and creative people is just so much fun. This sounds pretty basic, but I still feel the need to say that making connections with other humans is pretty cool. And what's even cooler is being a part of another human's creative process. Typically when I meet someone new and we start on a shoot we're both a little awkward and nervous. But, by the end of the shoot there's a rhythm and connection that feels so unique. I feel like I say it all the time but sharing in someone's passion is such a special feeling. I love gaining an understanding of an individual's work and being able to help them create it. I'm also always immensely grateful that all of these awesome people are willing to help me create my own work and content for this blog.

Speaking of photographers and meeting new cool people today's photos are from my shoot with Melanie a couple weeks ago! I found Melanie on Instagram a few weeks prior and I immediately wanted to work with her (she has some beautiful work and pictures of pets so I was sold from the get-go). This was actually Melanie's first shoot which is insane to me because I love all the photos she sent me! Working with Melanie was a lot of fun. We wandered around Raleigh and discussed pets, shoot concepts, school, and Cats the Musical. Seriously, go check out Melanie's work on her Instagram and if you're in the Raleigh area you should definitely go shoot with her!

Today, I want to end this post by saying thank you to every person who has worked with me and helped me out with my own creative process. I seriously don't know what this blog would be without the artists I've met along the way. So thank you, thank you, thank you.

If any of you are ever in town and would be willing to shoot with me, let me know! I've found few things as extraordinary as creating with others.
