Confidence ft. Two Feathers

Is confidence derived from our ability to wear inspiring outfits or from the outfits themselves?

I have often wondered if my ability to wear an interesting outfit is because I already feel confident in my personal style or if my personal style creates my confidence. In which order do we find our confidence? After putting on the trendy and flattering outfit that screams "I got this" or is it the action of putting on the interesting outfit that requires the confidence to already be present?

I'm not sure there is a definitive answer to this question. I personally have experienced both. My relationship with my own confidence and personal style is constantly changing. There have been many days where I admittedly feel poorly, but when I put on a cheerful outfit my mood changes entirely. Separately, there are days where I feel on top of the world and wearing a unique outfit seems like the only option!

While the recognition, that confidence can be found at different times and in different ways, is meaningful, it is far more meaningful still to recognize that this possibility exists at all. By this I mean that knowing your confidence can come from you or your dress is great, but it really doesn't do much for you if you choose not to acknowledge it. You must be aware that you're capable of drawing confidence in different ways when it comes to personal style. Not just that, but you must be able to admit that your confidence can have highs and lows to begin with. This recognition lends itself to kindness towards oneself. If you know you're feeling poorly on any given day you could choose to use personal style as an aid. You could choose to dress in a manner that might make you feel like well I don't know- a badass? I recognize that there are other ways to improve your mood and if another course works best for you then go for it! Personally, being capable of recognizing my confidence level and using my personal style as a tool has become so ridiculously valuable. It is an integral part of who I am, of how I function on a daily basis. You don't have to agree with me, but you did just read this post and that's really half the battle.

I'm honored to say that in today's photos I was lucky enough to collaborate with a brand that screams confidence with all their pieces. Two Feathers is an innovative brand that recognizes the power of the modern-day fashion-forward woman. The top I'm modeling from Two Feathers in these photos is definitely one that boosts my mood (whether I need it or not that day!). I think the collar on this top is so interesting that honestly it just makes me proud to wear it. Having the opportunity to collaborate with such an inventive and contemporary brand is a privilege. Thank you, Two Feathers!

But wait- I was lucky enough to collaborate with two other creatives on these photos! If you're based in North Carolina like me then you've probably seen the work of the creative dream team, Meeza (@warpaintartistry) and Heidi (@heidibeephotography). These ladies produce beautiful work, but are also just beautiful people. They were so immensely professional and knew exactly what they wanted from this shoot. I truly believe that you can see these ladies' passion in the work that they produce, and goodness gracious it's refreshing. Also, it should be noted that Meeza and Heidi create some pretty great content solo too. Huge thank you to these ladies for including me in this shoot. You should definitely go check them out!

Now I don't know about you, but I'm getting the overwhelming urge to dress like a badass. See ya next week!
